Abortion?

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 19, 2009, 11:04 PM
  • Mood: Hysterical

I have some news...
I am pregnant. I found out just one hour ago. I... don't know what the hell I'm gonna do. The guy I did it with won't even talk to me, I tried to explain it to him over the phone, but he just hung up. I am shit scared...
No, I kid ya. xD I'm not pregnant.

But! I do have some thoughts.
If this actually happened to me, that I fooled around with some dude, and let's say he poked a hole in the rubber and I got pregnant... Should I be allowed to take abortion?

Are you for or against abortion?

I, personally, am for abortion. I think this is an option that should be available. Some people who are against it says it's a violation of human life, which I can understand, but I still don't support it. Abortion should be optional, it's should be a woman's choice if she want to do this or not (not that this should be turned into a new sort of "protection", but in cases where it's needed).

What's your opinion on this?

I think it should be an option but I agree it shouldn't be considered a form of birth control. Not sure how you could discourage people from doing that though.

I believe that people should always have choices available to them. I can't imagine how terrifying it might be to be forced to carry a child that nobody intended to have or can provide for.

In any case, I support whatever decision you choose to make.

The body is the womans, and so are the choise of having a child. It's atleast 20 years of taking care of the child, pain and joy combined...

my opinion is that you should defiantly consider whats going on with you. You don't want to raise a child in any other conditions then perfect. If you aren't ready, then its best to make a decision based on that. I believe that an abortion should not be an answer to fooling around with a guy and messing up. But If it was a true accident then its up to you. As well, you can consider other options like adoption. But when it all comes down to it, I dont think deviant art is a good place to get a decision on this. You should talk to family, friends, doctors, and other supports out there. Everyone is going to tall you something different for sure, but in the end the choice is up to you. And if it matters, some stranger supports your choice no matter what.

I am for abortion so long as it is not used as a method of birth control. If you are on the pill and use condoms and you get pregnant and you really don't want it, then you were being responsible and it is a hard choice but I would say okay. If you don't use any birth control and you get pregnant and have abortions to rectify it, then I say learn to be f*cking responsible and live with the choices you make. (Not saying you aren't, this is just my view on it) Woman's choice. :)

I would have one, I use two forms of birth control so if it happened it would be strange lol.

I just don't want a baby, I could probably bring one up ok and scrape by with money, but I just plain don't want one.

To me, it's not even alive yet! If you look at it from the point of view that it's a chance of life, so it is a life. Then every time a guy masturbates and a girl has a period they are having an abortion XD

Personally, I am against abortion unless it is medically needed to save the life of the mother. But that's my choice. For other women...well, they're the only ones who can say what is right for them. I believe that any pregnant woman who is unsure about keeping the baby, or completing the pregnancy should simply be given all the information that they CAN be given on all choices available to them, from keeping the child, to giving it up for adoption, to aborting the pregnancy. Not the propaganda info that so many try to force on them in support of any of those choices, but the real facts about what their choices mean for them, for the baby, in both the short and long term so that they can make the proper, informed choice for themselves and the fetus.

In the end...no matter a woman's choice, there are long term effects. To raise a child is HARD. It's a lot of work. To give one up for adoption can be something that is regretted later on down the road, by the mother, or the child, or both. To abort the pregnancy can have medical complications for the mother as well, including rare cases of infertility or death to the mother, or a higher risk of miscarriages if she decides to have children later. However, raising a child is also rewarding if you are ready to put in the work, giving a child to a loving adoptive family can complete that family and give the child a good life, as well as giving the mother a clear conscience if she is one who might feel deep regret or self hatred after aborting, and abortion is something that many women choose because they can not go through with the pregnancy for many personal, mental, and emotional reasons. There's a lot more to each choice than that, too, and each woman should be given all the information she needs to make her choice for herself.

Of course, the better starting point is a proper education in prevention, and methods of prevention, as well as easier access to preventative 'measures' regardless of age or income, before it ever becomes an issue. And not just education from schools or public programs, but parents, instead of the total avoidance of the subject that so many choose instead, or the thought that the schools do a good enough job of covering that side of education for children and teens. Since schools simply don't in most cases, instead going for the 'abstinence only' route.

I don't like a bit the abortion idea.

But I'd definitely hate the idea of being an "unwanted" child. I'd rather die.
So, for me, abortion is a better choice, than having a baby you're not gonna love, or that's gonna ruin your life (and realize it sooner or later).

Killing is horrible, but now, killing a person's soul and will to live...

I truly think Abortion is an awful thing, If you are pregnant and the dad wants nothing to do with you you should put the child up for adoption for then the child will have a chance at life that abortion takes away from it
